About the job:

We are looking to appoint a General Manager Super & Retirement Solutions, an integral part of our Product & Operations team, you will report into the Group Executive for Product & Operations and provide leadership and subject matter expertise to research, evaluate, develop, and implement an integrated and market-leading Rest product portfolio.

You will be instrumental in ensuring we offer competitive and sustainable products that meet member and employer needs and position Rest’s superior brand and reputation in the marketplace.


Key responsibilities for the role include:

Product Strategy

  • Lead and develop the strategic product roadmap for all of Rest’s suite of products
  • Accountable & responsible for the strategic direction, enhancement and financial performance and sustainability of Rest’s product suite.
  • Provide strategic input to Rest’s insurance offering and portfolio management.
  • Provide strategic input into Rest’s 3-year business plan.

Product Development and Implementation
 
  • Initiate research (both externally and internally), monitor legal and market changes and evaluate findings to develop more competitive products and services.
  • Develop product plans and tactics
  • Accountable for business cases for approval through concept phase including product specifications, business rules, and financial modelling of benefits and costs
  • Involvement in the translation of business rules to implementation of service process, procedures and improvements
  • Work closely with other Product Managers to ensure a holistic approach to product development, integration, offering, implementation and efficient use of resources across Rest
  • Undertake detailed implementation planning.

Product Management
 
  • Develop and assist in the production of reporting to measure product performance, efficiency and profitability.
  • Educate staff and promote the product suite across Rest and act as a product champion.
  • Manage product specifications
  • Tracking product outcomes relative to success goals
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead discussions and actions to modify/correct
  • Undertake specialist programs and projects as assigned by the GE – Product & Operations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training to staff and stakeholders.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and direction to the Super & Retirement team (empower, coach and upskill where required).
  • Define and develop product and communications strategy and plan.
  • Monitor product lifecycle performance and lead the Super &Retirement team to take remedial action.

About you:
  • Tertiary qualifications in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • RG146 in Superannuation desirable
  • Constructive leadership style and focus on developing talent within the team
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of superannuation industry and product offerings
  • Demonstrated expertise in superannuation policy and PDS documents and the application of definitions, eligibility criteria and terms and conditions.
  • Proven experience in superannuation product management, particularly end-to-end product development benefit quantification and implementation (including Corporate/Employer)
  • Research skills and the ability to interpret data and translate complex information for a range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to formulate and execute product strategies in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
