About the Job 

Working within the greater Innovation and Transformation team, your role is to ensure the execution of Technology Services activities are well managed and within risk appetite by focusing on the execution of operational risk framework requirements and embedding an effective risk culture across the business.

Reporting into the Head of Information Security & Technology Risk, your primary focus is to review, refresh and execute Innovation & Technology I&T risk action plans in accordance with the Risk Management Strategy (RMS)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high quality risk/control support and expertise including reporting on operational risk and control profiles, issues, incidents and other matters
  • Supporting the impacted Business Units (BU's) in executing remediation plans
  • Ensuring risks are validated, profiled and captured in the Risk reporting tool (Archer) and updated when risk trigger events occur to ensure the integrity of risk data
  • Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements, remediate control failures
  • Effectively design controls for all new and changing processes and operations, and supporting the business through the implementation
  • Proactively communicate and educate key staff on Risk awareness initiatives
  • Conduct and manage control testing procedures, including the development of test scripts, and report on assurance findings on a bi-annual basis.
  • Prepare information to support the strategic planning process and conduct analysis, tracking and reporting on the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS)
  • Work closely with audit teams to agree initial scope, then ensure internal and external audits are completed on schedule, and ensuring recommendations are remediated in a timely manner and within specified agreed timeframe.
  • Work effectively with Line 2 colleagues to determine optimal course of action to remediate any significant data integrity issues within the business
About You:
Ideally, you will have a keen interest in Risk Management, Technology and doing the right thing! With an inquisitive mindset, exceptional communication, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a strong blend of technical and business knowledge, across a diverse range of technologies will see you succeed in this high-profile role.
  • Relevant tertiary or technical qualifications in Technology Risk (CRISC, CISM)
  • Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience in risk culture assessments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence stakeholders of all levels.
  • Strong proficiency in analysing and synthesising multiple sources of data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, internal/external audit (desirable).
  • Experience in Financial services industry (desirable) or a similar regulated environment.
  • Risk Mindset – ability to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • Willingness to learn and cross-skill in a collaborative team environment.
