About the Job
Based within our 2LOD Risk and Compliance team, you will work closely with the Senior Manager, Operational Risk to lead the development, maintenance and monitoring of Rest’s Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks, ensuring good governance and controls are in place and that Rest is appropriately protected against risk.

This is an ideal opportunity to build a career in Risk within a leading “profit for member” fund.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the reviewing and enhancing Rest’s Risk Management Policy, Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Register and other risk related policies and procedures;
  • Performing second line controls assurance to monitor the effectiveness of the Control Self-Assessment performed by the Business lines;
  • Act as the 2LoD Risk advisor to the business and performing reviews and challenge on risk related matters;
  • Provide governance over data quality in RSA Archer ensuring that the Business units are in compliant with data quality standards required;
  • Developing and managing processes to identify, analyse, evaluate, treat and monitor enterprise risks management;
  • Ensuring the risk management framework is effectively integrated into daily operational processes in the business units;
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of materials for risk workshops with management and /or Business units; and
  • Participate in the development and embedding of an appropriate culture and compliance awareness.
  • Reviewing and enhancing Rest Risk Framework related policies; and
  • Ensuring Rest’s compliance obligations are met including legislative, regulatory, contractual, internal policies.


About You:

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, law, economics, business or equivalent.
  • Membership of professional bodies such as ASFA and the Risk Management Institute of Australia (RMIA) or the Australian Compliance Institute.

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

  • Previous experience in risk, compliance or internal audit, ideally within Superannuation or Financial Services
  • Good understanding of applicable laws and regulations
  • Sound understanding risk frameworks, policies and compliance frameworks in the financial services industry
  • Experience in performing control assurance and or assurance over 1LoD testing
  • Understanding of risk and compliance management tools, techniques and best practice methodologies.
