About the Job 
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team at Rest, initially offered as a six month contract this role may offer opportunies for extension or to become permanent.
Based in a team of finance professionals, your role will report to the Financial & Regulatory Reporting Manager and is responsible for supporting the organisation to meet its financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and tax reporting across its various Trusts and Companies as well as assisting team members in corporate and financial reporting projects, processes and controls.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing annual financial statements for various Trusts and Companies, ensuring reports accurate and timely reporting
  • Preparing supporting documents and reconciliations for the various Trusts and Companies, ensuring compliance with all regulatory reporting including income tax (inc. BAS) and GST
  • Assisting team members as directed when dealing with the custodian, external auditor or tax advisor in relation to reporting and compliance obligations
  • Supporting corporate and financial reporting related projects as required by the business, including directed implementation and supervised research.
  • Ensuring appropriate controls within the finance function are complied with, managing operating risks relating to finance
  • Designing, developing and implement new systems and processes to ensure ongoing efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

About You:
  • Tertiary accounting or equivalent qualifications
  • CA or CPA
  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or Financial Statement Auditor
  • Superannuation industry or Investment management experience highly regarded
  • Previous professional services experience
  • working experience in financial reporting and tax for Trusts and Companies
