Mr Hobart brings 25 years of experience in financial services to the role, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, where he will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to elevate relationships with nearly two million Rest members and over 170,000 Rest employers.
“Driving the development of new products, services and benefits for our two million members is at the heart of what we do and Craig will be instrumental in helping deliver the next evolution of our relationship capability,” said Chief Operating Officer, Rest Industry Super, Mr Andrew Howard.
“This is an exciting time of growth and development for Rest and bringing on board an executive of Craig’s standing, with his depth of experience in sales and marketing for funds management will only help accelerate this.”
Craig joins Rest from Baycorp where until recently he was General Manager Australia since 2013. Prior to that he was Chief Executive Officer of Yourshare Financial Services, an online B2C financial services company and held a range of positions at Tyndall AM from 2007 to 2012 including Managing Director.
Craig holds a Master of Management from MGSM and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland.
Rest is one of Australia’s largest super funds by membership with over $39 billion in funds under management as at 30 June 2016 and nearly two million members. SuperRatings awarded Rest Pension of the Year 2015, the second year in a row Rest has won this award. Rest also received Money magazine’s 2015 and 2014 Best of the Best award for Best Super Fund Manager and Best Pension Fund Manager.
