Superannuation often gets put into the ‘future me’ basket, to be looked at when employees are retired or close to it. But what if you intervened and encouraged your workers to be more proactive, so they can better enjoy the life they deserve in retirement?  

At Rest, we understand that super can be a complex topic that often gets put on the backburner. However, we also know that it is important for individuals to take charge of their super. While super is there to ensure employees are looked after in retirement, there are other ways in addition to the mandatory super guarantee payments you make that can assist them to make the most of their super. 

Anecdotally, we know that many members lack basic financial understanding around super; they’re busy getting on with their lives, and they’re not actively looking for financial advice or help. However, we offer our members financial advice - generally at no additional charge*.
For Rest members who are comfortable with getting financial advice over the internet, we have online advice topics available^ which is included as part of their membership.

Insurance Needs – This is a tool that enables members to work out how much insurance cover they should have based on their unique needs, and it also flags other things they need to consider. This tool is a great for members who are considering their insurance coverage, with guidance on next steps.
 
Retirement Health Check - This is a calculator that does exactly what it says on the tin: it allows members to better understand their current position and how far away they are from reaching their desired retirement lifestyle. From here, members can seek further financial advice on how they can achieve their retirement goals.
 
Investment Choice – Exploring your investment options and find out which investment option is right for you. Making a choice that's right for you can make a big difference.
 
Contributions Optimiser – Our contributions optimiser will help you find the best way to contribute a little extra to your super. Adding a little extra now could make a big difference to your future.

Super Health Check – This is an easy first step for members to sort out their super. No prior knowledge of super is required to use this tool, which produces a ‘Next steps’ checklist for those interested in seeking further advice.
 
If they prefer to talk to us, we have make it as easy as possible for members to access this service, by providing an online booking tool to arrange a phone appointment with a Rest Advisor.
