About the Job
Based in our Investments team, your role is primarily responsible for the maintaining and performing the Operational Due Diligence function at Rest; identifying operational risks across Rest’s external investment managers, managing relationships with service providers and providing reporting to the Investment Committee.

This is a six-month contract to cover for paternity leave, based within a team of high performing investment professional, the purpose of the role is to ensure there are fewer operational risks inherent in investment managers operational frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the implementation, documentation, monitoring and reporting of Rest’s ODD Framework, whilst ensuring Rest’s ODD Framework meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Rest’s ODD service providers to ensure the service providers are meeting their obligations. Leverage from the relationship wherever possible to provide maximum value for Rest.
  • Engage and influence Rest’s Investment Managers and Transition Managers to improve their operational frameworks to align with Rest’s risk framework and report progress to the Rest Investment Committee and/or Audit Risk and Compliance Committee (where relevant).
  • Support the Senior Manager of Investment Implementation and Due Diligence when collaborating with Rest’s Investment Adviser when formulating and reviewing the asset class reviews, to ensure ODD risks are considered
  • Support the Senior Manager, Investment Implementation and Due Diligence and Manager of Investment Implementation when selecting new Investment Managers and conducting respective ODD and IDD.

 
 About You:

  • Relevant degree or other tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the operational environment of investment managers
  • Understanding of what is considered market practice, as well as best practice, for operational practices at investment managers
  • Experience in Operational Due Diligence would be an advantage.
