About the Job 

Following a recent promotion, we are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to join our Delivery team.  your role is to promote and support agile processes and disciplines across the organization, and to be the driving force behind multi-team initiatives acting as a Scrum Master and Coach.

This is an ideal opportunity to secure a role working on both technical and business projects within a high performing delivery team. A key change agent in Rest’s strategic intention to become more agile, you will play an integral part in driving the team’s rhythm, culture and processes.
 
Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Develop and lead agile product teams to maximize the delivery of value within the Rest delivery model and Agile ways of working.
  • Embrace servant leadership and display the behaviours that come with the key mindset shifts associated with agile methodology.
  • Support in the setup and governance of team knowledge management tools
  • facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, showcases, retrospectives and backlog refinement sessions as defined by the agile practice in Rest.
  • Prepare and lead team showcases, Scrum of Scrum and progress reporting for stakeholders and within the delivery and governance model.
  • Actively improve flow of work by identifying, escalating, and helping to remove impediments/ blockers/waste for the team when required.
  • Encourage and help the team to implement continuous improvement ideas identified via various ceremonies including sprint retrospectives.
  • Facilitate the projects with a fit for purpose approach and provide support to the Program Business Owners, Product Owner and steering committee as required.
  • Liaise with Technology teams, external vendors and business stakeholders to ensure value is delivered incrementally and Agile processes are followed for quality outcomes.
  • Coach POs, Scrum team members, stakeholders and contribute to developing agile capability across the enterprise.
  • Champion self-organisation and cross-functionality within the team.
  • Assess the scrum maturity of team(s) and coaching them to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.
  • Engage with other Scrum Masters to share knowledge, methods, and techniques.
  • Lead an ongoing focus on reflecting, learning, and adapting to enabling a learning culture and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure value to customers, partners and stakeholders are clear and sprints/delivery increments are delivered to expectations.

About You:
 
  • Demonstrated track record of setting up multiple successful agile teams and delivering business outcomes.
  • Proven expertise using Agile and Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, FDD, TDD.
  • Demonstrated Project practitioner experience in an IT environment
  • Knowledge of product development life cycle and governance.
  • Knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories mapping, BDD, TDD, CI/CD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Agile Games.
  • Prior experience acting as liaison between business and technology.
  • Agile training and big room workshop facilitation experience.
  • Domain knowledge – Superannuation, Financial services, digital - highly regarded
  • Experience of regulatory reporting programs
  • Scrum Master Certification
