“Develop member focussed product offerings and best practice operations that deliver outstanding service to members and employers whilst managing our risks and regulatory obligations”

Delivery of the corporate communications tactics by supporting the Head of Corporate Communications to protect and build Rest’s profile and brand increasing member/employer engagement through public relations, media relations, issues management, and advocacy.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Develop corporate communications content and plans to support Rest in achieving its strategic objectives and in protecting and managing its reputation, which includes:
    • Drive thought leadership around agreed Rest strategy and agreed policy positions and support public affairs initiatives y to protect and manage Rest’s corporate reputation and build member/employer engagement. r.
    • Develop public relations campaigns designed to educate and engage Rest members about their superannuation and insurance.
    • Support media relations to drive positive engagement and increase Rest’s profile.
    • Develop content for Rest’s annual report, member briefings and sustainability reports. 
    • Support advocacy of public policy positions to benefit Rest members, employers and Rest as well as supporting Rest’s strategy as a Responsible Organisation.
    • Contribute to the implementation of communications as part of the aligned corporate communications plan, advised by the Rest CEO and the Executive team.
  • Work with key external suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver business outcomes in line with timelines and budgets
  • Manage budgets.


About You:
 

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in communications/marketing or related discipline
  • RG 146 Compliant
  • At least 5 years’ experience with a super fund, insurer, administrator or adviser
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Possess strong planning, organising and project management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with external communications, including PR and the media
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise work, manage time, and meet deadlines
  • Skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work autonomously
  • Sound relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Industry knowledge – experience and/or understanding of working in a regulated environment.
