It’s International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, we wanted to do our part to help elevate our community of women and celebrate their achievements.
As part of this year’s activities, we had the opportunity to talk to one of Rest’s most inspiring employers, and members, Maddy Balderson.
Maddy is the co-founder and CEO of Luna Bronze, a business that is owned, run, and led by an all-female workforce.
Maddy’s story serves as a source of inspiration for all who are seeking to achieve dreams, overcome obstacles and make a positive impact on the world, and by doing what we can to share, listen and learn we hope to spread the message for a more gender equal future, which includes a fair and equitable retirement saving system.
In this short video, Maddy joins Rest’s Southern Regional Manager, Jane Sheridan, to share her inspiring story on how she turned a skin cancer diagnosis into a global Bronzing and Skincare brand. Highlighting her struggles, triumphs and lessons learned along the way, all while balancing home and work responsibilities, as well as being a new mother.
She shares exclusive brand insights into how they transitioned from an online to multi-channel retailer, combatted the rise of ecommerce businesses as a result of the pandemic, as well as their dynamic approach to social media marketing, which includes how they’re using TikTok to bridge the gap between business and consumer, to foster an authentic sense of community and generate brand loyalty.
At Rest, we’re responsible for the retirement savings of over 1 million women, making us Australia’s largest female-member base superannuation fund. Which is why each year we remain committed to recognising the United Nations gender equality movement.
