Experienced people and culture leaders join Rest to drive focus on workplace culture and employee experience


Rest, one of Australia’s largest profit-to-member superannuation funds, has appointed 2 experienced general managers to drive the fund’s strategic focus on workplace culture and employee experience in support of the best-possible outcomes for its 2 million members.

Amy Matthews has been appointed to the role of General Manager, Organisational Capability & People Experience, while Kama Ghosn has been appointed as General Manager, People Solutions and Services. They will both report to Amy Murrell, Chief People Officer.

Ms Murrell says the 2 senior leaders have deep experience and expertise in creating and embedding an employee and member-centred culture.

“We want our people to truly love their work and find purpose and excitement in what they do each day because this is key to Rest’s success in supporting our members to achieve their best-possible retirement outcome,” says Ms Murrell.

“Amy and Kama will both play a pivotal role in strengthening our culture of organisational excellence and Rest’s position as an employer of choice.

“We are fortunate to already have a great culture at Rest and want to build an ever-stronger work culture where our people can think creatively to make the experience of super simpler for our members and help them make choices that lead to better retirement outcomes.

“Amy is responsible for driving the development and execution of our people strategies to continually enhance and evolve our employee value proposition, while Kama will be responsible for driving operational excellence across the P&C teams including optimising service offerings, enhancing employee experiences, improving accuracy and efficiency in all operational processes, and

About Amy Matthews

Ms Matthews has more than 20 years’ experience in organisational development in the financial services sector. She joins Rest from Aware Super where she was the Head of Organisational Development for 8 years. Prior to this she was the Head of Organisational Development & Learning at Rabobank and also held leadership, learning and development roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. She began her career as a financial planner.

About Kama Ghosn

Ms Ghosn has more than 20 years’ experience leading people initiatives across a range of industries including engineering, agribusiness and financial services. Most recently she was the Chief People Officer at life insurer NobleOak. Prior to this she was the Chapter Lead, People Experience and Governance at Resolution Life Australasia. She previously held performance, reward, people technology and governance roles.

Ms Matthews commenced with Rest on 9 December, while Ms Ghosn will join on 21 January 2025. Both will be based in Sydney.
