Rest, one of Australia's largest profit-to-member superannuation funds, has appointed Scott Tully as its new General Manager, Product, announcing the industry heavyweight will lead the fund’s work to enhance and simplify its member product offer.

Mr Tully steps into the position after almost a year at Rest. He originally joined the fund as Head of Investment Option Development in February 2023 and was appointed as Acting General Manager, Product last October.

Prior to joining Rest, Mr Tully was Executive Director, Investments at Colonial First State where he enjoyed a 20-year career leading the investment function.

Mr Tully will bring a holistic and member-centric approach combining both product and investment perspectives to Rest, said Deborah Potts, Rest Chief Member Officer.

“Scott is a uniquely talented and experienced superannuation expert. I am confident his expertise and leadership skills will be a fantastic addition to Rest as we work to create simple and easy products and experiences to benefit all members.”

Mr Tully said he was thrilled to continue his work supporting the needs of Rest’s unique membership.

“Rest is unique in the superannuation industry in that it represents more than a million members under 30 and more than a million women. I’m excited to help pursue our mission to provide Rest’s 2 million members with super that they love.”

Mr Tully has more than 30 years’ experience in superannuation, retirement and investment management. After starting his career in superannuation consulting, he worked in financial markets and risk roles before beginning a more than 20-year career in investments.

Mr Tully’s appointment is effective immediately.
