Rest, one of Australia’s largest industry superannuation funds, has announced adjustments to its Executive Leadership Team.
Trevor Evans, Group Executive, People, Finance & Change, will retire from Rest in August after seven years with the fund. As a result, Rest has decided to separate the People & Change, and Finance functions.
The People & Change function, which includes human resources, culture, learning and development, and change management, will move into the Innovation & Transformation group.
Amy Murrell has been appointed as the new General Manager, People & Culture to lead the function. She will start in May and report to Jeremy Hubbard, Group Executive, Innovation & Transformation.
A Chief Financial Officer will be appointed to lead the Finance group, responsible for financial management and strategy, and taxation, and will also be a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
The appointment of the Chief Financial Officer will be announced in the near future.

“Amy has demonstrated expertise as well as extensive experience in the superannuation and financial services industry. A senior leader of her calibre will further deepen the capability in this critical function.
“Trevor has been a much-valued part of the Rest team since he joined in 2014 and has been instrumental in recent years as we aligned the fund to a new strategic direction, continued to build internal capability and established new cultural values.
“His expertise was invaluable in 2020 as we dealt with the challenges of working remotely during a pandemic, with health and wellbeing a priority. We wish Trevor the very best in retirement and thank him for his contribution to Rest.”
Ms Murrell has held senior human resources roles in the financial services sector, most recently as General Manager, People and Culture at Resolution Life Australasia. She also spent more than a decade at AMP Group, including as the Head of People Services and Governance, and the Head of People and Culture Projects.
Mr Evans will remain with Rest until August to assist with a seamless transition.
