Your super simple ESA explainer

As an industry super fund, Rest doesn’t need an ESA. But if you’re curious, here’s a quick explainer.

Put simply, an ESA receives messages about your super contributions. It’s useful when you have an SMSF, because it tells the other technology across the network whether you’re meeting your technical requirements for superannuation. That helps agencies like the ATO see what’s happening and notify you about contributions. Because Rest isn’t an SMSF, the process works a little differently. So, we don’t need an ESA.

Tip:

If you're filling out a form that includes a section to write an ESA, and you're a member with Rest Super, you can leave that field blank.
