Rest, one of Australia’s leading profit-to-member superannuation funds, has announced three new leadership appointments in the Workplace Superannuation team.
Jessica Empson has been appointed as National Manager, Business Solutions. This newly created role will be responsible for leading the fund’s long-term new business growth aspirations in a highly competitive market.
Bart Healy has been appointed as Northern Regional Manager, and Jane Sheridan has been appointed Southern Regional Manager. They will lead the relationship management teams responsible for large employers across the country from the Rest Sydney and Melbourne offices, respectively.
“There is strong competition among super funds to grow their employer and member bases, particularly in the corporate sector,” said Deb Potts, Rest’s Group Executive, Employer & Industry Engagement.
“These leaders have the experience and expertise to drive this growth, as well as deepening the relationships we have within our employer base.
“Ensuring employers are updated with any changes to their superannuation obligations, and providing our members with information and education in the workplace are imperative to helping our members achieve their personal best retirement outcomes.”
All three roles report to Richard Millington, General Manager, Workplace Superannuation, who leads Rest’s growth and retention initiatives at the national level.
Ms Empson joins Rest from AustralianSuper, where she was the Business Solutions Manager. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including senior roles with Perpetual, BT, and Zurich Financial Services. Joining in late May, she will be based in Rests’ Melbourne office.
Mr Healy is an internal promotion to the role of Northern Regional Manager. He has been with the organisation for two years and was previously Rest’s Queensland-based Senior Relationship Manager. Bart has previously worked in a variety of roles in financial advice, marketing and communications.
Ms Sheridan joins Rest from Hostplus, where she was the Victorian State Manager. She has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, including senior roles with Virgin Money and several boutique wealth management companies. Working from Rest’s Melbourne office, Jane will join the organisation in mid-June.
