About the Job 
Your role will see you working the Senior Manager, Compliance and wider team to operate, review and enhance Rest’s Compliance Management Framework to ensure Rest operates in compliance with its legal and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Compliance Management Framework: assist in development, maintenance and monitoring
  • Policy Governance - monitor the currency of Rest’s corporate policies; assist in the review and updating of Risk and Compliance owned policies and other governance documents as required.
  • Compliance assurance - work with team members to develop, document and embed robust compliance assurance processes covering both the Trustee Office and key service providers.
  • Compliance outcomes: assist in ensuring Rest operates in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and other obligations:
  • Support the operation of Rest’s Regulatory Change Forum including preparation of papers, maintaining knowledge of specific regulatory change areas, attendance at forum meetings, identification and assessment of regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in planning and attending compliance workshops with staff and management
  • Oversight of Rest’s Incident and Breach management process
  • Perform a compliance review of new incidents to and determine whether they should be referred for legal advice regarding reportability
  • Work with external parties including internal/external auditors and regulators.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a compliance related role in financial services, including experience in a superannuation related role.
  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to super trustees including areas such as the SIS Act & Regulations, Corporations Act & Regulations, APRA’s Prudential Standards, the Privacy Act, the AML/CTF Act.
  • Sound understanding of frameworks designed to mitigate compliance risks
  • Experience in incident management
  • Experience in writing submissions for Boards and Committees as well as developing and maintaining corporate policies
  • Membership of professional bodies such as ASFA and the Risk Management Institute of Australia (RMIA) or the Australian Compliance Institute.
