About the Job
Your role as Senior Manager, Regulatory Engagement will work in conjunction with the GM, Risk & Compliance as the principal liaison with our regulators including ASIC and APRA.  Based within our Corporate Services Group, this is a high visibility role working extensively with our executive leadership team and board.


Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Engagement with business stakeholders on regulator engagement matters for completion
  • Monitor the progress of the regulator engagement items, review updates and track completion dates
  • Submit/lodge responses to regulator requests as well as breach notices to the relevant regulator/s
  • Arrange attendance for relevant REST stakeholders for meetings with regulators, attend and minute those meetings and send actions to REST owners
  • Prepare dry run sessions with Rest attendees for Prudential Reviews and provide critical thinking in potential focus areas
  • Co-ordinate decks, catalogue documentation requests and provide quality assurance over same so that responses are in a ‘fit for purpose’ state for lodgement with the Regulator
  • Attend regulator information sessions, industry round-tables etc to gain thoughtful insights into regulator views on relevant topics and future direction
  • Together with the Head of Regulatory Affairs support and advise management on regulatory matters
  • Provide thought leadership together with insights to the Senior Leadership team on emerging regulatory themes and associated Regulator expectations/focus areas
  • Prepare and present reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and Board and Board Committees.

About You:

Qualifications:
  • Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in finance/commerce/law, or equivalent business experience
  • Superannuation education – highly desirable
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
  • Substantial experience in risk and governance management in the financial services industry, superannuation experience preferred
  • Experience in managing CEO, Board, Committee and Regulator reporting and governance administration
  • Substantial experience and demonstrable track record in developing strong relationships with Regulator Supervision teams with proven experience in a senior regulatory engagement/affairs role
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial services legislation and regulations
  • Sound understanding of risk frameworks, policies and compliance frameworks in the financial services industry
  • Ability and desire to work with all levels of management including CEO and leadership team.
