About the Job

This is an ideal opportunity to use your superannuation compliance expertise in a practical and focussed manner within a role that supports and encourages; thought leadership, problem solving, collaboration and accountability for delivering results.

An integral part of the Compliance Team, you will have the opportunity to leverage specific expertise, alongside developing in areas where you have not had as much previous exposure. The team cover everything from Reg Change, obligations management, compliance controls and assurance, Board and Management reporting, Incident and Breach management, compliance training and Policy Governance; as well as specialist compliance areas such as AML/CTF, Sanctions & Privacy.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Play a leading role in developing, maintaining and monitoring Rest’s Compliance Framework
  • Assist in ensuring Rest’s compliance with laws and regulations
  • Play a leading role in the management of the Incidents/Breach Process
  • Act as a trusted partner to business areas across Rest through the provision of ‘second-line’ compliance assurance services through consultation and participation in projects and business initiatives
  • Participate in the development and embedding of an appropriate culture and compliance awareness, including the design, delivery and monitoring of compliance training
  • Work with external parties including internal/external auditors and regulators and ensure management action items raised by these parties are monitored and reported on as required.


About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, law, economics, business or equivalent
  • Membership of professional bodies such as ASFA and the Risk Management Institute of Australia (RMIA) or the Australian Compliance Institute
  • Proven experience in a compliance management role in the superannuation sector
  • Thorough knowledge of compliance obligations as they relate to superannuation funds and superannuation trustees
  • Sound understanding of frameworks designed to mitigate compliance risks
  • Experience in incident management within a financial services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Experience in writing submissions.
