About the Job

A newly created role, we are looking to bring on board an experienced Data Governance Manager to have overall responsibility for the Data Governance function.  Reporting directly to the Head of Data Strategy and Governance, you will take Rest on a journey, implementing best practice Data Governance capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Define & Improve Governance Capabilities– Advise, Develop, Improve & follow best practices & modern data governance principles
  • Collaborate with wider business to define and execute Rest's data governance model
  • Develop and implement principles, policies, standards and guidelines for Data governance
  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
  • Lead resources from the Business and Functional areas and IT business and operations functions, to achieve their objectives
  • In conjunction with wider IT, provide progress reports to management and oversee periodic updates to the Department Data Governance Roadmap
  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the processes related to those services
About You: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record in operating data governance programs and managing change in the organisation.   
  • Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization
  • Operational familiarity in the use of meta-data management, data quality, data catalogues and data stewardship processes & technology
  • Ability to manage a data governance program working very closely with the data partner & cross-functional business teams
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Ability to analyse complex situations and to derive workable actions.
  • Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to Rest
  • Ability to understand organisation’s vision & lead cross-functional teams to execute that.
