About the Job

As part of the senior leadership team within our Innovation & Transformation Division, your role as the General Manager Delivery will be to work directly with Group Executives, The Board and other Senior Leaders at Rest to deliver capabilities across Project, Business Analysis, Testing and working methodologies to facilitate change and uplift business capability. 

The key emphasis of this role is to provide a future state strategic capability by assisting with the implementation of and then delivering Agile capabilities within the delivery teams and across the wider Rest organisation. This is a “leader of leaders” position and is ideally suited to someone who prides themselves on their strategic “big picture” vision, commercial acumen, pragmatism, resourcefulness and the ability to influence and gain Technology and business alignment; looking for a role where they can shape the future state by being an integral part of a business transformation.    

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership & vision for Rest in the areas of Delivery, Program/Project management and Agile delivery
  • Establish and lead practices of excellence for capabilities required for delivery of the Business and Technology Strategic plans i.e. Project management, Agile, Test, Business analysis etc
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to ensure that the best solutions are implemented to achieve business outcomes while balancing the need for mandatory architecture and security standards.
  • Strategically manage team resources to attract, develop and retain top performers.
  • Lead the supply and dynamics of the team, effectively resourcing the delivery team in order to deliver agreed outcomes. This is through effective leadership and partnership across the team.
  • Lead business engagement, driving change and aligning Technology & Delivery with enterprise needs through a strong ability to build, establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Improve end user engagement and experiences across the organisation
  • Ensure adherence of the team’s long-term plans to established policies and legal guidelines.

About You:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile delivery methodologies, Complex Program/Portfolio delivery and Change
  • Proven ability to operating in a matrixed organisation
  • Previous experience working within a period of transformation would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in Technology/Delivery
  • Demonstrated experience leading a delivery function across both agile and waterfall methodologies – if this were withinfinancial services it would be highly regarded
  • Proven experience in managing senior relationships across all the Business and Functional areas
  • Highly developed skills in priority setting and alignment of project priorities against the organisational strategy.
