The Job:

In this highly autonomous role with our Investments team, you are accountable for providing exceptional secretariat support to the Rest Investment Committee. Ensuring all meetings are documented and reported according to regulatory requirements, this is a pivotal role in the team. You will have access to understanding the investment strategy of our organisation that influences the success of our Members’ superannuation.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Preparation of investment committee agendas and packs prior to meetings, in consultation with the General Manager, Investments (GMI) and the Chairman of the Investment Committee.
  • Coordinate and attend all meetings of the Investment Committee to document minutes and action items arising of those meetings according to the Rest Investment Governance Framework.
  • Ensure recommendations determined by the Investment Committee are appropriate and compliant by consulting the GM, Investments and where appropriate, Group Legal Counsel.
  • Prepare documentation for investment items recommended for consideration by the Rest Board
  • Undertake investment governance related activities such as review of Investment Committee Charter and develop recommendations for consideration of the Investment Committee.
  • Coordinate review of investment related policies, update delegations register and assist with compliance assurance process to ensure effectiveness of controls as part of the compliance function.
  • Assist with investment audits by internal/external auditors or regulator.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

You are an experienced compliance or governance professional that can demonstrate a thorough knowledge of effective investment compliance and risk governance frameworks. You have an understanding of Investment instruments, portfolio management, asset classes, investment mandates. Be familiar with how institutional investors, investment managers, custodians and investment service providers interacts. You are confident supporting committees and boards in a secretariat function and taking minutes is a strength. Your highly sophisticated written and verbal communications skills will be required to deliver accurate and concise messages. Your ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders of all levels will be a key asset in you achieving your goals.

Qualifications wise, you will bring to the team tertiary qualifications in commerce, business or economics would be highly regarded.
