About the Job 
We are currently looking to bring on board two RI/ESG Analysts to be based in The Rest Investment team of circa 70 people based in Melbourne, Sydney, New York and London. Your role will support the Head of Responsible Investments, listed and unlisted asset class teams and others in growing the high performing Responsible Investments (RI) function and enhancing ESG and climate-related knowledge, skills and capabilities.
Your role will see you contribute to developing a more sustainable global financial system covering a broad spectrum of responsible investment themes, including, but not limited to, ESG integration, Active Ownership, ESG Due Diligence, ESG Disclosure, and Collaboration.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Research, analyse, and report on ESG and climate-related data, trends and metrics
  • Conduct ESG Due Diligence of Investment Managers, ensuring ESG and climate-related factors are integrated within the investment process
  • Develop Active Ownership capabilities
  • Co-ordinate, advise and consult with internal stakeholders, and research and draft ESG related policies, disclosures and communications
  • Participate in, contribute and deliver to internal and external collaborative committees, taskforces, and networks to ensure Rest stays a learning, knowledge sharing and innovative organization

About You:
  • Previous experience within Responsible Investments or alternatively experience in sustainability data analysis e.g. corporate governance, environment, greenhouse gas reporting or human rights or a desire to build a career with Responsible Investments/ESG
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Economics and/or Applied Finance, and/or relevant experience within investment management and/or superannuation would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge and demonstratable technical and functional experience related to Responsible Investment including implementation of ESG policies and guidelines within the financial or real assets sectors.
  • Proven Experience in data analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) and an affinity with data collection, analysis, monitoring and reporting  
  • Awareness of ESG-related risk management and compliance obligations in Australia and globally
  • Committed to continuous learning, able to demonstrate knowledge of current RI/ESG trends
