About the Job 

Based out of our Melbourne CBD office, reporting to the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for assisting with and promoting the operation of; Rest’s tax strategy and tax risk framework to ensure that tax is managed within Rest’s risk framework.
Working as part of a Tax Team of three based you will be an integral part of the within our finance team and work closely with Investments and Legal. This role presents an outstanding opportunity to further your tax career within an organisation that truly foster personal development.


Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • To optimise the Fund’s tax position within the terms of its tax risk framework
  • To assist the Head of Tax in supporting the Tax Planning Committee
  • To assist, as part of the inhouse tax team, with the management of the annual tax timetable and contribute to the preparation and submission of tax returns on behalf of the Fund and related entities both onshore and offshore
  • Responsible for the tax review of investments
  • Provide support to the finance team in its regular tax reporting requirements, including advice on GST, PAYG, income tax provisioning and FBT
  • Be part of the team promoting awareness internally of tax updates, rulings, developments applicable to the Fund and ensuring implications for the Fund are understood
  • Act as subject matter expert when called on the business.

About You:
 
Qualifications:
 
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Master of Tax or Chartered Tax Advisor
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
 
  • Demonstrated expertise in a financial services, professional services firm or superannuation fund.
  • Good understanding of the superannuation industry and / or funds management industry highly regarded
  • Proven organisational and time management skills.
  • High level research and analytical skills.
