Working at Rest

At Rest we believe in creating happier tomorrows – for our customers and our people. This simple philosophy drives us in building a working environment that supports our people to make a difference.

We know that everyone who joins Rest has different needs, goals and lifestyles, so we’ve designed a wide range of benefits to support our people as their needs change, and to help them flourish.

Health and wellbeing

Rest wants to provide an environment that encourages our people to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally, so they can be the best they can be, so we offer:

  • a health and wellbeing program, including offering a Fitbit and rewards for being healthy, such as discounts on gym membership, fitness equipment, activities, flights, and much more;

  • mental health support, including R U OK day, Employee Assistance Programs and other initiatives to improve wellbeing; and

  • subsidised sporting and community events

Flexibility and leave

At Rest, we look to support our people in balancing their work, family and personal responsibilities. We believe that offering flexible working arrangements and a variety of leave options plays an important part in this, such as:

  • purchasing additional annual leave

  • paid parental and paternity leave

  • superannuation paid during maternity leave for the first 12 months

  • pre-natal leave up to 15 hours to attend medical appointments

  • family and domestic violence leave

Learning and development

At Rest, a defining feature of our culture is our commitment to continual learning through our ‘Grow Your Own Way’ learning philosophy. By offering a wide range of learning opportunities, and incorporating a holistic approach to learning from doing, learning from others, and formal learning, employees are enabled to continually learn and become architects of their career.
To support our commitment to growing and developing our people, we also offer:

  • financial support for approved tertiary, vocational and non-award courses

  • twenty hours mandatory off the job training every year

  • two days paid study leave per subject per semester and membership to professional associations where required.
